Old Toronto is located just east of the downtown core. It sits between Yonge St. and Parliament St. and stretches from Lakeshore Blvd. up to Queen St. This area is within easy walking distance of the heart of the city.
Old Toronto offers beautiful historic architecture and showcases many of Toronto’s landmarks. It is made up mainly of condominiums and is populated by a mix of couples, students and business professionals. King Street fills the area with many local shops. Residents can walk to grocery stores, the LCBO(liquor stores) and local markets. The infamous St. Lawrence Market offers unique stalls selling fresh meats, fish, vegetables and flowers along withfresh foods to go. Going to the market is a ritual for many locals and tourists.
The Distillery district is one of the city’s most vibrant historic areas. The old Gooderham and Worts Distillery buildings have been converted to residential and retail spaces housing more than 40 unique shops and numerous restaurants. It is a popular weekend destination.
