      The Danforth is named for the main artery runing through it - Danforth Ave. The Bloor-Danforth subway line runs underneath Danforth Ave. making commuting to the city core a breeze.


      The heart of the Danforth is the strip directly east of the Don Valley, also known as Greektown.


      While there are still definitely a lot of Greek restaurants on the Danforth, it is a very multicultural community offering a diverse range of local restaurants, clothing and jewellery shops, coffee shops, health food stores, yoga studios and fruit market.


      The Danforth is a very family-oriented neighbourhood and is home to the Taste of the Danforth, an annual food festival held in the summer. There has been growth in prices in recent years. Housing is a mix of two-storey, three-storey, semi-detached, and detached and a small number of low-rise condominums. The area offers lots of parkland which makes it a lovely spot for long walks and connecting with neighbours and nature.
